All About Neighborhood in Boerum Hill

You may want to take a look at Brooklyn’s most charming new development in Boerum Hill-a neighborhood fast becoming the buzz of Brooklyn real estate. Hopestreet’s the Hendrik, the fruit of a collaboration with Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and Planners, is a six story, 33 unit building featuring two to four bedroom condos in the close-knit community in the midst of all the excitement and energy Brooklyn has to offer. With a prime location, world-class amenities, and a daring yet subtle aesthetic combining sophisticated minimalism with superior craftsmanship, the Hendrik is slated to become one of the most sought-after developments this side of the river.
We sat down with Sha Dinour, Partner at Hopestreet, to figure out what sets The Hendrik apart from other Brooklyn developments. To start with, Hopestreet felt it wise to part with the ubiquitous red brick façade to go with a unique Danish grey brick. As Dinour put it, “The brick was very important. We wanted to make it contextual to the neighborhood but did not just want it to be a red brick building. We wanted to get something that not only looks good but is good.” To make sure they lived up to the quality they promised, Hopestreet made their way to Denmark to get their hands on the Petersen family’s, “hand-made bricks that have a very unique texture and color and feature a hint of dark green due to the influence of the algae found in that area. It’s really a special aesthetic.”
What’s inside the Hendrik is no less remarkable than what’s outside, as every aspect has been specially crafted for spacious and smart urban living. All the reisdences feature ceilings at least ten feet high, seven inch-wide hand selected white oak hardwood flooring, recessed LED lighting with dimming throughout, eight foot triple layered Wausau windows for exterior noise reduction, expansive terraces, Calacatta marble kitchen countertops and backsplashes equipped with Miele appliances, master bathrooms showcasing custom-built walnut vanities with Corian countertops and brass hardware, and much more. Finally, with a dazzling array of amenities including a fitness room, lounge, bike storage space, a rooftop terrace, and a children’s playroom, residents will be catered to from all sides.
