Hope Street Youth Development is proud to be an AmeriCorps Service Member service locaton. We are currently accepting applications from AmeriCoprs members.

Member Duties : The role of the AmeriCorps members would be to serve along side HSYD staff in providing trainings and to accompany students in their experience of civic participation and engagement. Specifically, AmeriCorps members would be building relationships with students, connecting students, leading trainings, teaching students how to do research, assisting with weekly chapter meetings at the high schools and encouraging students to take an active role in their community.

Permits attendance at school during off hours , Requires full time service without outside commitments , Uniforms provided and required .

Hope Street recieved a wonderful offer from KCTU to begin hosting a 1 hour, youth-run, youth prepared TV show! The first show will be Monday, January 14th, 2008 at 6:00 pm on Channel 5. If you are interested in learning the ins and outs of production, interested in hosting a show with 27,000 views a day (and that’s just local!), or just want to be a part of something that involves generating ideas - contact Danielle at 316.263.7325 or email at danielle@hsyd.org!

If you live in Wichita, or you have been around Hope Street students you have probably heard about or seen our Pink bus that we use to transport students. Well sometime between May 25 and May 27th the bus was stolen. It puts a real damper on our ability to connect students with the work of being civically engaged. The police have not be able to find it. (Not sure how you can’t find a 1968 PINK BUS!) So we need your help. If you spot a Pink bus with black trim please contact Hope Street Youth Development at 316.263.7325.
